I am GoodBuffaloEagle.
My aching bones tell me that winter is here. Some of my furry friends have gone into hibernation. With the season of giving before us, I pause to reflect on our sacred work of giving to children and families a New Beginning.
I truly believe that within each child is a Seed of Greatness and potential to succeed. I invite you to ponder the words of YoungWalkers who have had a Change of Heart and a New Beginning because of generous donors.
"StarWhiteWolf" - YoungWalker / 1995
"My experience at Anasazi changed my life. - there were many shadows that hung over my life, darkening my eyes and causing me to walk far from the open arms of my parents. My heart remained hard for the first couple of weeks, but the warmth of the desert and the silence of my thoughts split my outer armor and soothed the confusion that I held deep within. A tiny spark began to grow, slowly filling my eyes with new light - it ultimately consumed the darkness that I had held so tightly. I came home a new person, changed by the many experiences on the trail. I had found myself, and now had a firm determination to continue to walk forward."

ANASAZI Report: YoungWalker / 2005
"A year ago, ANASAZI saw a very unhappy little girl. I can't believe the girl that has changed. I think back on what my life was like a year ago and if somebody had told me that a year
ago today i would be happy, loving life, studious, not have a huge group of friends, be at a new high school, love my family, love my few friends, not flip out when i'm angry, that i'd find a healthy
way to control my anger, that i'd be a top of the top student in my new school, that i'd have a cell phone and my permit... i'd have laughed in your face, because a year ago, this very girl that we
speak of today, didn't exist a year ago."

ANASAZI Report: YoungWalker - Mother
"Today is the one year anniversary of our son entering the trail and I have nothing but gratitude in my heart because I have my son back. He is clean and sober. He has a job as a dishwasher/prep cook
and will start training next week as a line cook. He is paying off his debts and following the rules and even paying room and board. He is on the path to the wonderful man I know he has the potential to become."

ANASAZI Report: YoungWalker / 2001
When I was 17, I was troubled and was making wrong choices. Anasazi taught me how to embrace all of life's challenges, how to look past the negative things affecting me, and a way see the positive things in life...
I attended University of Massachusetts Dartmouth got a BFA in Graphic Design. The Anasazi Way has helped me throughout my career, with my friends and family.

Making of a Giving
2011 has been a memorable year! We were honored to walk the trail with many wonderful families who have become new members of our ANASAZI Tribe. ANASAZI, The Making of a Walking was featured prominently on a widely viewed MTV series, and we held a memorable Scholarship Gala and reunion with more than 300 alumni and friends. We rejoice that ANASAZI Foundation fulfilled its charitable mission, as our Scholarship Fund enabled us to give families approximately $350,000 in financial aid.
For this reason, I invite you to consider ANASAZI Foundation as your year-round charity. Whether you can gift a monthly tax-deductible contribution of $10 or $10,000, we would be grateful to have your ongoing support.
Join me in the SacredTrust of healing families and saving lives. Together we can be an answer to the tender cries of those in need. Let's set a fundraising record, and give ANASAZI's sacred work a fast start in 2012. With your continued financial support, we can build a firm foundation for years to come.
You can do the Making of a Giving by mailing the enclosed donation card or at www.anasazi.org/donateonline.html. Rest assured, your good gift will have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of deserving YoungWalkers and parents.
Thank you, my wonderful friend, for keeping the ANASAZI Way alive for those in need.
